System Benchmarks
We’ve included quite a few different benchmarks to test the system, as a whole, against competitors. Mostly, however, it’s being tested against itself a we only have one other competitor that we’ve actually had the pleasure of testing. These are also references for you to place against your own systems, too. None of these benchmarks are proprietary and can be run at home fairly easily.
Memory Bandwidth
CrystalDiskMark
USB Performance
Wireless Network Performance
Google Octane 2.0
Mozilla Kraken
Cinebench R15
X265 Bench
WinRAR Compression
CNTK DNN
The next benchmark is a special one that I think represents future workloads that many individuals and especially scientists will appreciate. I’ve used Microsoft’s CNTK deep neural network to test how fast this CPU can sample through and learn a series of convoluted images. This benchmark can be run by anyone, all you have to do is download the framework itself (it’s one of a few that works in Windows) and simply run the convoluted image sample included with the framework. It reports samples per second.
On the next page we’ll look at how well the Y900 Razer Edition handles gaming duties, the primary reason why one might be interested in it.
