Lenovo IdeaPad Y900 System Benchmarks
Let’s quickly go over how the IdeaPad Y900 performs in the day to day and how it can help you compute your life. We use a combination of synthetic tests and real-world tests to help you get an idea of how well it’ll do just about anything. We also include a learning task from an open-source DNN from Microsoft to show how well this machine can accomplish deep learning tasks, which is quickly becoming a very important part of our future.

We’ve moved on from the typical x264 encoding test to the more complex and efficient X265 protocol. It’ll soon see more widespread use, though it’s not quite as prolific in the wild just yet.
WinRAR is a good test of the CPUs cache and of the RAM’s timings and speed. It’s almost a full system benchmark, if it were GPU accelerated. Despite that it’s a great test and completely free. It’s also, aside form 7Zip, one of the more used compression programs.
We use Microsoft’s DNN because it can be run from Windows, and it’s open-source and fairly straightforward to setup and use. We test using an included photo recognition test that tests how many samples per second the machine can process.
