Lenovo had quite the showing this year at CES already with quite a few different model lines being revamped both in specs and also some slightly in style. Not to be outdone by others, they’re gaming laptops are also being suitably upgraded with Kaby Lake and finally with Pascal GPUs. Lenovo Legion is the new branding going forward. And the new family members are looking quite good, so far.

They’re revamping two of their 15.6-inch laptops to round out the low to mid-range segments with much better specifications. The new one’s will both be capable of having up to an Intel Kaby Lake Core i7-7700HQ processor with 16GB of RAM. Storage is ample at a separate PCIe SSD, up to 512GB, for the OS and a 2TB HDD for additional storage. GPUs will be limited to up to a GTX 1050 Ti for the Y520 and a GTX 1060 for the Y720. The Lenovo Legion Y720 is also carrying with it an industry first, with Dolby Atmos capable sound.

Curiously missing from the upgrades is the Y900 laptop, with it’s decidedly more high-end specifications. Hopefully we see something about that coming in the near future.
